Startup Workshop - Technical Crash Course

Founded a tech startup but don't know how to code? It's critical for non-technical founders to understand the basic challenges involved in building a tech startup. Understanding the technical impact of early decisions puts founders in a much stronger position to thrive. This is why startups with at least one technical co-founder have a much greater chance of raising institutional investment than those without one. Join us for a two-hour crash course to learn the basics. In this session, professional full-stack engineer Dan Kwon will teach you about the basics of backends & databases: What is a REST API? What is a web framework? Should you use Node, Rails or Django? Which database should you use? How do I deal with scalability and security? WHO This workshop is intended for those without a technical background working in a startup. For startups without a technical co-founder, we highly suggest this workshop as a primer on the basic background information necessary to make informed decisions. If you are a software developer who can deploy a database driven website using a popular framework (Rails, Django, Node, etc), this workshop is not suited for you. ABOUT Dan Kwon is a full stack software engineer who has been working with startups, development agencies, and corporations since 2012. He specializes in mobile development (iOS) and the web stack (Node JS, React/Redux/React Native, Python, AWS). In addition, he is the founder of Vertex 360 which is a highly scalable web deployment platform designed to make it faster and easier than ever to go from idea to launch.
