      Own Your Career In Cybersecurity: Orientation for New Hires

      Overview: The Federal Chief Information Officers Council and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management are sponsoring the Fourth Cybersecurity Orientation for new Cybersecurity Professionals. Leading Cybersecurity Professionals in the Federal Government will share personal experiences and discuss their career paths. Participants will obtain an understanding of their role in supporting the Federal Government's cybersecurity mission. The orientation will include a keynote speaker, remarks by senior government leaders, a panel discussion on the top five Cybersecurity Work Roles, demos of cybersecurity innovations, and a Cyber Knowledge Lab. Participants will have the opportunity to attend mentoring or coaching sessions, presentations on educational tools/resources, gain knowledge of career websites, and network with other cybersecurity professionals from across the government.   Who Should Attend? This event is free and open to Federal employees and Federal contract employees in grades GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent) with five years or less of Federal cybersecurity work experience.   KEYNOTE SPEAKER CHRIS LYNCH, DIRECTOR, U.S. DEFENSE DIGITAL SERVICE. Chris Lynch is proud to cofound the Defense Digital Service after serving as part of the United States Digital Service (USDS) team at the White House. At USDS, Chris has focused on revamping the technology, processes, and policies around the delivery of benefits to the men and women serving our country.
