      Description

Though Washington D.C. is chock full of history, no other concert hall in the city has as rich a legacy as the DAR Constitution Hall. Located across from the Ellipse and the White House, the spacious venue has scheduled numerous performers of all types, including comedians, modern musicians, dancers, symphonies, lecturers, politicians, and orchestras. DAR Constitution Hall's elegant interior is regal in both form and function, and its design harkens back to grand theaters in Rome. It's rich history combines with modern performers to create a night of entertainment that audiences won't soon forget.

The DAR Constitution Hall was built in 1929 as a meeting place for the rapidly growing organization, the Daughters of the American Revolution. The DAR only used it once a year for a convention and quickly became a popular concert hall the rest of the time. A year after it was built, DAR Constitution Hall scheduled its first performance of the National Symphony, and became its home until the 70s. The hall also hosted the extremely popular film lectures from the National Geographic Society, and continues to host Sunday concerts from the Air Force Band that are attended by many. The theater was used as the location for Eddie Murphy's infamous stand-up special Delirious, and has hosted musicians like Aerosmith, the Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, and many more.

The plush accommodations and superior sight lines of the DAR Constitution Hall make it one of the premier music venues in Washington D.C. For a schedule of all the performers coming soon to the concert hall, be sure to check Eventful often.
