This year, communities around the Washington, D.C. area are stepping up to celebrate the fifth annual Small Business Saturday. From Etsy trunk shows and shopping crawls to Main Street murals, this year’s celebration has something for everyone. See what’s happening across the city:

Main Street Makeover and Celebrations in Georgetown
5 “Main Streets” across the country will receive makeovers from professional designers to be revealed during Small Business Saturday weekend. In Georgetown, acclaimed designer Sheila Bridges will transform P Street NW.

Come out and join us for the reveal on November 29th at P Street and Wisconsin Avenue, NW.

      Small Business Saturday Street Art
For the second year in a row, American Express will commission artists to create Shop Small murals in 10 cities across the country. In Washington D.C., local artist Aniekan Udofia will paint a community mural to celebrate local businesses and artisans in Adams Morgan. Stop by 2423 18th Street NW to check out the art and snap a pic.

      Etsy Trunk Show
American Express and Etsy have teamed up to encourage small businesses to support and showcase local artisans in their communities. New this year, business owners are hosting in-store Trunk Shows featuring local Etsy sellers and their products. Salt & Sundry, a boutique home goods store located inside Union Market, will host an in-store event featuring an Etsy Trunk Show.

      Neighborhood Champions

People across the country are rallying their neighborhoods to organize events celebrating the small businesses in their communities. The owners of Fins & Feathers in Ashburn, VA are teaming up with their neighbors to organize a sidewalk sale with free food, balloons, face painting and a moon bounce at Broadlands Village Center. Businesses in the Adams Morgan neighborhood are offering discounts for customers who come by and get a stamp in their special Small Business Saturday "passports." Don't miss the fun!
