      QC Student Bus Trip to March for Life

      March for Life QC Bus Trip January 16-20, 2019 For high school and college students  All students will enjoy walking in the national March for Life and sightseeing in the nation's capital. Students also have the option of attending the annual Catholic Youth Rally, Mass for Life, and/or the national Students for Life Conference. Trip Agenda/Itinerary: Wednesday, January 16  * Bus meets at I-80 truck stop in Walcott and leaves around 7pm. The bus will drive overnight. Thursday, January 17  * Bus arrives in Washington, DC in the afternoon. Check into hotel. Participants can do evening sightseeing around town.  Friday, January 18  * Morning Options - Catholic Youth Rally and Mass for Life or Sightseeing around DC. I'm told most of the Catholic students and adults usually attend the morning rally and mass.   * Noon - National March for Life Rally  * 1pm - National March for Life, starts at the National Mall and ends in front of the U.S. Supreme Court  * Later afternoon - Potential meet-ups with legislators. Maggie DeWitte from Iowans for Life usually contacts Iowa legislators to see if she can arrange any meet-ups for participants.   * Evening - Dinner and sightseeing Saturday, January 19  * Morning - Check out of hotel and load luggage onto the bus  * Free Day Options - National Students for Life Conference or Sightseeing around DC  * 7pm-ish - Bus leaves for home and drives overnight Sunday, January 20   * Participants arrive back home in the afternoon or early evening  Trip Cost $400 covers transportation to Washington, DC and hotel accommodations. This does not include food. Total cost will likely be around $500-550/person depending how much each person spends on meals and snacks, transportation within the city (Metro, Uber, taxis), sightseeing excursions, and other incidentals.  Scholarships available for students and adult chaperones, especially from the Iowa Quad Cities. Many thanks to the generous donors who gave through the Black & White Gala and QC Right to Life to provide these scholarships.  A $50 deposit and registration form is due in October 1 to save your spot. Checks should be made out to "Iowans for Life" as we are partnering with them for the bus and hotel arrangements.  Catholic Youth Rally and Mass for Life Friday morning, January 18 Thousands of youth attend this rally that encourages them in their witness as disciples of Christ and promoters of the Gospel of Life. It is the largest annual archdiocesan event. The event begins by featuring popular Catholic musicians. Participants will join in praying that our nation will stop wandering in the wilderness of the culture of death and will enter info life in abundance through faith in Jesus Christ and proclamation of the Gospel of Life.   Event page - Video -  Students for Life Conference  Saturday, January 19  The nation's largest pro-life conference, they expect 2500+ students this year. It's great equipping and inspiration, like a youth rally on steroids. Target age is high school and college students, but junior highers can attend and adults are welcome to attend with their students.
