Thanksgiving dates back to 1621, when the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast. In 1863, during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November, which was celebrated on the last Thursday of the month. In 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt moved the holiday up a week in an attempt to spur retail sales during the Great Depression and in 1941 he signed a bill making Thanksgiving the fourth Thursday in November.

Join us now through January for our Community Drive, benefiting Mission of Love and other local charities.

This year we are looking to provide coats/hats/gloves/canned goods etc. to help those in need. We will continue this through the rest of the year!
