#PLEN40 Leadership Connection Series: Women Powering the Future

In celebration of our 40th Anniversary, PLEN is highlighting the impact we’ve made as we continue to break down barriers for future women policy leaders. The 40th Anniversary Leadership Connection series will bring our current and future leaders together in one room to discuss our country’s most pressing policy issues. Through these discussions, we’ll look back at the progress that we have made and look forward to the work that still needs to be done. In December of 1979, PLEN held a forum at Wells College in Aurora, NY entitled Energy Policy: What Can Women Do? The full-day event featured discussions on the societal impact of energy policy, national energy policy, women’s leadership, and professional advice for women interested in energy policy. We are revisiting this topic with the next panel in our Leadership Connection Series: Women Powering the Future. In this panel discussion, we’ll highlight strides we’ve made since that first panel in 1979 and what we still need to do to support women leading our nation’s energy policy agenda. The panel discussion will start at 4:30 and conclude at 6:00 pm, followed by a networking reception with light fare. We have designed this event to fully comply with US Senate Rule 35.1(d)(1), US House Ethics Manual pp. 41-47, and the U.S. Executive Branch Gift Rules regarding the “widely attended event” exception to the gift rules.  Speakers: Tara Anderson, Director, External Mobilization, American Petroleum Institute (API)Erica Dahl, Vice President, Public Policy and Government Affairs, Vivint SolarJanine Finnell, Executive Director, Leaders in EnergyDr. Njema Frazier, Nuclear Physicist, National Nuclear Security Administration, Department of EnergyMelissa Lavinson, Senior Vice President for Government and External Affairs, Pepco Holdings Sponsored by:
